This place is an absolute grift. $700 for a lunch for 4. They did not have the kobe medallion available either; oddly, I see it in other pictures here, but when I specifically asked to see it in-person they told me they did not have it available. Our tour guide took us here. He ran inside ahead us t...o speak to the staff privately, before we arrived. On arrival, we were shocked to see the prices here. The ambiance was not good. The kobe was fine, but for the price (again - $750 for 4) I found the sides completely lacking. You get a tiny salad and some rice -- no offers for drink refills. Our chef/cook was periodically on her phone speaking with somebody while she was cooking in front of us. All in all, the ambiance was not good, and the price is laughable. There are far, far better places -- at much more reasonable price points -- for kobe. If your tour guide suggests this location, be forewarned that you are in for a grift.

Our experience was awesome. The lunch course was very affordable and delicious! Our chef, Y-Mima, was incredibly friendly and cooked our meals to perfection. A definite go to when you are in Osaka!

I’m a bit conflicted about my review of this Kobe beef restaurant. We picked it due to the fabulous reviews on TA. I’d had the Kobe beef experience before, in Kobe many years back, at an authentic small restaurant with all seats taken by locals, and with an affordable price point. For me, atmosphere... is an important part of the experience. At Wanomiya there was only one other couple at the resto (a young Chinese couple) & they left shortly after we entered. So for most of our meal we were alone which just felt…weird. No ambiance. Just before we left another tourist entered, from Italy, also enticed by the TA reviews, so after we left he must have been all alone too. So in terms of atmosphere it just felt off. The food was very good but service quick - we could easily have been out of there in 30 minutes had we so chosen. I was surprised we were not offered tea at the end of the meal or possible refills of rice or salad. I remember there being more veg at my meal in Kobe years back. The price was pretty astronomical- for a treat meal I somehow expect more. Our chef Tin (? From Harbin) was very nice & the food good. But it was not the memorable meal I had hoped for.

This kobe beef dining experience was AMAZING!!! We had the dragon blue premium sake, which had a wonderfully pleasant sweet hint aftertaste. Then the main course - the buttery melt-in-your-mouth lingering oishi taste kobe beef - 10000/5 stars!! Parbata, our chef, cooked it to the most highest standa...rds. HATS OFF TO YOU PARBATA!!!! She cooked our kobe beef sirloin, our rib eye beef, & our amazing kobe beef fried rice. Mima cooked our second round of rib eye beef (yes, it was that good) - PERFECTION! Thank you WANOMIYA for the excellence & high quality beef& experience!! SUGOI!!! ♥︎
