Fubitosuro

This restaurant is right in the heart of Kyoto. We were pleasantly surprised that at about 5 o’clock in the evening it was empty. The steak is absolutely fantastic. Other dishes, while small all have decent flavor. I would almost compare them to a Spanish tapas, but it’s kind of Japanese cuisin...e. I would score the food 8/10. The only criticism I would have of this restaurant is that the staff seem very unprofessional. Like college kids. Don’t really seem to know what they’re doing. The BGM music was also a huge disappointment. It was like 1990s pop music. They say the wrong music and the wrong staff can take away some of the flavor. Such huge potential if they just trained their staff and change the playlist to some cool jazz.

We visited the restaurant and had a lovely meal of wagu steak with French fries and tiramisu as dessert. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Would recommend this restaurant, especially the set menu option.

Great dishes and desserts (mainly meat and some Italian influencie) very nice and attentive service, enough space also as a family (4 people, Not just chairs at the bar), and rather cheap foor the very good quality and presentation of all dishes. Our experience was so good that we came twice for Di...nner. Arigato!!!

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner while visiting Kyoto and the food was great! We got one of the courses and it was all delicious. However, the service was a bit awkward. Our waitress would routinely lean over him to place food on the bar, then would walk around to place food on the same spot ...for me. When I returned from the restroom one of the waitresses (not ours) had approached and started a conversation with my boyfriend. I sat back down and she immediately walked away without acknowledging me, so it was pretty apparent that she had taken my absence as an opportunity to talk to him. The conversation wasn’t about food, and she didn’t talk to me at all so she wasn’t just trying to practice English. It was a good time otherwise, but I honestly wouldn’t go back because I felt it was unprofessional and disrespectful.

We had so much fun here! We walked in late and the staff was kind and welcoming. The food was outstanding and drinks were delicious! Thank you for your warm hospitality...!!
