TantaRoba

Took a stroll this afternoon down Harimazaka ~ a popular cherry blossom viewing place near Myogani station, to see if the ubiquitous cherry blossoms were blooming. Could see just a few stray blossoms had popped open but they would definitely be in their peak by next weekend. Anyway, I decided to gra...b a bite at the Italian place Tanta Roba. They had a 3 course table d'hôte menu for lunch priced at ¥1999 including taxes. You can order à la carte too. They also have an excellent selection of wines. The servers were polite, efficient and spoke English (much common these days in Tokyo 'cos of the 2020 Olympics, I guess). The atmosphere is casual, homely and seats about 20 people indoors and 4 people on the porch outside. A little cramped but cozy. They welcome kids but they don't have high chairs and since it is small, God help you if your little one is cranky or in one of those moods! The food was nothing exceptional but definitely delicious and cooked to perfection. By the way, just remember they do not accept credit cards. So, if you happen to be in the neighborhood during Hanami season, Tanta Roba is a must visit.

Fine Italian wines and dishes served by charming and proficient staff in a cosy atmosphere. Great for a date.
